This is the official website of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) student chapter at San Diego State University (SDSU).

What is SAME?

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) unites public and private sector individuals and organizations from across the architecture, engineering, construction, environmental, facility management, contracting, and acquisition fields and related disciplines in support of the United States' national security.

SAME was founded in March 1920.

What is SAME@SDSU?

We are the official student chapter to connect SDSU undergraduates with the military engineering industry by offering industry tours, scholarships, mentoring, volunteering and networking opportunities, and social activities that foster professional relationships and enhance future career opportunities.

SAME@SDSU was founded in October 2011.

Mentorship Program

Open to all, this eight-month program (October 2026 through May 2027) matches mentees with mentors who offer relevant expertise, guidance, feedback, and support. Pairings meet regularly online or in person to work toward goals developed during the program.

Scholarship

The SAME San Diego Post 2026 STEM Scholarship opens applications at the end of this year. Details will be posted here and on our Discord. You must be a SAME member (free) to apply.
